My mom called it a “wild hair” —
and whatever you want to call it? I’ve got it.
Mind you, I’m very straight-laced — straight-A, overachieving, first born (twin, so kinda second born by 2 minutes but who’s counting other than my sister) — but when you need a change, you need a change, right?!
💇🏼♀️ Cutting my hair off when I got stressed (like many many times over the last 30 years)? ✅
🩷 Adding a random pink streak to my hair at 18 — just for fun ✅
🍦 Getting an ice cream tattoo at 29 that matches my husband? ✅
So when I told my husband for YEARS I wanted a nose ring, he knew it was only a matter of time until I made it happen.
The year was 2020 and let’s be real, I called like 4 different places and NO ONE was doing any piercings. It was a different time.
So I got this grand idea — TO DO IT MYSELF.
And I’ll spare you the gory details but the bottom line is this:
It was totally safe
After having 3 babies (at the time) this was absolutely NOTHING.
My husband tried to do it for me, but in the end I did it myself.
And 4 years later I still love it AND that wild hair I’ve got.
And you know what else I STILL love?
📖 My paper planner that I will never give up even if I go a couple weeks a year without touching it…
📚 A good book (my most recent favorite is STILL Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver, but it’s a hard read, so know that going into it. Not as hard as The Poisonwood Bible, but still.
📺 Seinfeld — gah these people are the WORST but it’s just so funny. Also I now own a very similar barn jacket (mine is sold out, so this is the mens version, not affiliate link) to George Costanza and I’m super happy about that life choice. (see the gif above if you want to see what the jacket looks like) I’m reliving my 90s era and it’s the best.
🎄 The ornaments I’ve made every year for the last 6 years.
»»It’s honestly hard to believe I’ve done this for so long.
And my clients who have their ornaments in their home STILL LOVE THEM as much as they did when they bought them.
Because these ornaments aren’t just “ornaments.” They’re heirlooms.
3 Reasons You Need Heirloom Ornaments:
They’re timeless—crafted to be a beautiful keepsake that lasts.
They’re memory-filled, capturing the stories that matter to you.
They’re truly one-of-a-kind, becoming part of the legacy you pass down.
And those ornaments? They’ll be available November 22. If you want to place a preorder, hit reply and I’ll guide you through next steps.
xoxo,
Courtney
