Mittens painted during loud noises and in the midst of the rubble from having our house replumbed. Ah, the joys of adulthood. This was my *peaceful moment* in the midst of the chaos right here. ⬇️
I’ll never forget the first time my mom handed me a pair of hand-knit mittens (not by her lol) on a frosty January morning. The soft yarn and little snowflake pattern felt like a hug for my hands. That memory inspired today’s painting project—a pair of cozy mittens adorned with whimsical designs.
If you’ve ever read Jan Brett’s “The Mitten” or any of the other versions, you know how special mittens are (I mean seriously, they can hold a WHOLE SLEW of animals!).
Whether you prefer hearts, snowflakes, or stripes, (or flowers like me) this tutorial is all about capturing the warmth and charm of winter. Let’s make something that feels like wrapping up in your favorite blanket.
