Fine Art Friday #5
As I’m going back in and revisiting old emails, I’ll be sharing them here — even if they’re out of order. This is an oldie but goodie!
I recently found the best album ever, lullabies for when 90s kids have kids, and it’s led me down a rabbit hole memory lane in music.
Smash Mouth, Britney, and of course the endless conundrum that was Backstreet Boys or NSYNC!?
To which my answer is unequivocally N*SYNC…
Albums I’ve long since forgotten, I’m now jamming out to with my kids in the car.
The other day my youngest daughter told me her favorite song is “the bye bye song*” — NSYNC Bye Bye Bye to be exact, and she proceeded to sing the entire thing. She loves Justin Timberlake from Trolls movies, and clearly he will forever be a fave for all of us.
And yes, the music is good. But it’s the emotional connection that really takes the cake here. That’s why she loves it — because I love it. Because my husband loves it. Because we can sing EVERY.SINGLE.WORD. from memory.
Fun fact: in high school, my husband and a group of boys from his high school performed NSYNC and Backstreet Boys songs at a student council event (student council days are weird!) – the event was called BASIC – and basically it was like a camp for insane overachievers and highly driven people. As one might imagine, it was fun, quite competitive, and a LOT got done that week. After my sister got finished there, she came home and told me about THIS GROUP OF METRO BOYS who got on stage for a talent show (overachievers here, remember).
That's where I first heard of him from my sister and her friend Quinn…
And now it has me reminiscing on when I added him as my Facebook friend when we had only seen each other from across the room – but that's a story for another day!
That’s why she loves Absolution Calling — a story for another day — because my husband loves it.
Which made me think — it’s not about the band, it’s about the brand and the feeling it evokes.
The connection we have.
And you name it – finding stuff for your home, your wedding, what to wear, works the same way.
Maybe you got influenced on Instagram to buy the Stanley cup.
Maybe you got the latest Amazon find.
Maybe you even feel a connection with me and my art to where you want to be HERE on my email list and invite me into your inbox weekly?!
Choosing the right brands goes beyond mere transactions; it’s about forging a deep connection, an emotional bond that harmonizes with your vision for what you want – what you want your life to look like.
On the blog, I'm sharing about this thing we callbrand loyalty and SPECIFICALLY how it can elevate your wedding journey into an extraordinary and unforgettable celebration. You’ll love it more than my daughter loves N*SYNC. And if you know someone getting married? Share it with them. :)
Not really coming soon, but available at The Scouted Studio is this ^^ beautiful collection!
Reading: Good Company by Arthur Blank and miscellaneous cookbooks by Dr. Mark Hyman – made the Cremini Chili last night and it was SO GOOD!
Watching: Only Murders in the Buildingon Hulu – episode 1 was not awesome, but the rest is what you'd expect from Steve Martin and Martin Short!
Listening: The sounds of summer – i.e. mowing, tree chopping, fence fixing, and other fixes necessary because of the 118+MPH wind storm we got last weekend…
Loving: These containers, these Bluey stickers I stuck to fruit and vegetables, and this swimsuit I got on amazon
*Yes, these are affiliate links. My art supply budget (and now cookbook budget) thank you!
