FINE ART FRIDAY
Hi there Friend!
I find myself sitting here in the wee morning hours, watching Bluey with my littles and watching my little baby try to walk (yall I am not ready for this!)…
Attempting to scrape the sides of my brain with what to write today…
I’ve been thinking about what I wanted to write about ALL WEEK. I kid you not. I have had my Notion board up in my mind every.single.day.
I could write about the books I just finished? (Fourth Wing and Iron Flame… if you've read them please respond with any and all thoughts… I would LOVE to discuss!)
I could write about my little 1 year old who just got glasses (he is as adorable as you would imagine)…
I could write about any number of things — but honestly?
I find myself understaffed right now.
Between caring for sick children and a sick husband, homeschooling days, OH RIGHT being a small business owner going into tax season, being a real person with real feelings behind my brand, and to top it off with barely any time to paint which soothes my soul, I’m feeling weary.
…which reminds me of my great need for the Lord and I'm so thankful he is strong in my weakness…
I am so honored to be invited into your inbox weekly that I simply don’t want to let you down. I want you to enjoy reading my emails as much as I enjoy writing them to you, friend.
But you know what this reminds me of?
Inspiration.
As an artist, I’ve found if I wait to be inspired, it just isn’t going to happen.
Not consistently, anyway.
But I’ve teed up one of my classic blog posts to really dive into this, and I think you’re going to like it.

HOW INSPIRATION IS LIKE THE BACHELORETTE
THE ROSE CEREMONIES
FINDING INSPIRATION
That title though, right?! I promise it’s going somewhere…
I’ve had some awesome questions sliding into my DMs… questions like:
“How do you get inspired?”
“Do you have to wait until creativity strikes?”
“How can you create when you’re blocked?”
“Do you create when you’re having an artist block?”
All of these things are SUCH good questions–and some that I deal with on a daily basis ever since I started owning that I was an artist.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that artist inspiration is like The Bachelorette …
(and since Rachel Lindsay’s season was the most recent I’ve watched, it’s a pretty good starting point since now she and Bryan Abasolo are MARRIED AHHHH!)…
Thanks for inviting me into your inbox. Love you mean it.
xoxo
