FINE ART FRIDAY
NOTE: THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS :)
Last night I was perusing Facebook Marketplace (as one does in the late evening hours when my eyes were too tired to read —even though I finished a great read last week which was why I totally forgot about sending an email, my bad — and too lazy to turn on a TV show) …
I follow influencers/content creators who make MAGIC out of these finds from Facebook —
Do you do do this First name / friend?
And I always find myself wondering, How do they do it?
And there are two things that come to mind EVERY. TIME. I look up something on Marketplace.
First, how do they even FIND these pieces?
Excited and impatient, I type primitive into the search bar. It’s one of the terms these content creators suggest using so you can find the cool things like they do…
Yes, I’ve made a screenshot of these words like french provencial, french country, primitive, and more, for a time such as this.
>>>and I have to think that Oklahomans have a different meaning of primitive than the rest of the world. Idk what I am doing wrong, but I am NOT seeing those super cool vintage tables and wood pieces in my Facebook Marketplace feed like I see daily exploding all over your Instagram feed, Sally.
Second, it drives me bananas when measurements aren’t listed.
Raise your hand if you went to Restoration Hardware, bought, and brought a couch into your home that you hadn’t measured for because oh right they just didn’t show the measurements?
SAID NOBODY EVER: Well there was this one time..
Same. Me either.
The Type A Planner in me could NEVER.
So why play the wait and see method with this listing?
Last but certainly not least, is the expectation. I want so badly to be good at the DIY stuff — painting furniture (not artistically, just for fun), but I want it to be unique more than I want it to be perfect (if that makes sense?!) and give myself a creative outlet that is a little bit exhausting.
Sometimes you just need to hammer something — am I right?
When I buy something from FB marketplace, I’ve been searching for something like it for years. It’s not a piece I just grab by happenstance.
SO, unlike the frustrations we’ll encounter on the reg with the Facebook Marketplace…
You know what doesn’t spark frustration? A wedding painting.

10 Reasons Couples Who Want a Personalized Wedding Day
Need a Wedding Painting
Description of the piece? Obviously.
Measurements? ABSOLUTELY.
With a custom experience like a live painting, there is not an “i” undotted, or a “t” uncrossed.
As a rule, if you're planning a wedding and want to set it apart from any other, want it to be absolutely unforgettable, you’re going to need a wedding painting.
I'll spare you the big, long version of my speech — you get enough of that from me as it is (and this won't be the last time I'm planning bringing up the whole “you definitely need a painting” narrative) — and, instead, share with you 10 simple reasons why every couple who wants a personalized and bespoke wedding day should have a wedding painting:
#1 — It creates a one-of-a-kind, tangible memory of your special day, capturing the atmosphere and emotions in a way that photography simply cannot.
#2 — adds an interactive element to your wedding, allowing guests to observe the creation process and participate
#3 — TOTALLY CUSTOM — so family and friends will be ogling at it (helloooo, compliments 24/7!)
#4 — Makes your wedding memorable — guests will be talking about this experience for years to come
#5 — Gives you a keepsake of art that is unmistakably yours — your aesthetic, your story.
#6 — It allows you to provide something lasting (well, it does if you’re good…)
#7 — For planners who gift my services to their couples, it’s a beautiful way to surprise and delight your clients!
I'm not just talking about the usual wedding gifts here. No, no, no, we're elevating the game! Think about it: a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted masterpiece of your wedding day, painted ON your wedding day. It's like the cherry on top of your already fabulous celebration.
#8 — It's a conversation starter. Trust me, nothing beats the "Oh, this old thing?" casual humble brag when someone asks about the beautiful wedding painting hanging in your living room.
#9 — It's an investment in fine art — something that not only holds immense sentimental value but could also appreciate over time. Who knew your wedding could be a savvy financial decision too?
#10 — Lastly, it's just so darn cool. Seriously, having a painting made of your wedding is like saying, "We loved our day so much we made it a piece of art."
So, next time you're scrolling through FB Marketplace late at night, just remember: while vintage tables and DIY projects are great, nothing beats the lasting impression of a custom wedding painting.
Now, where's my paintbrush?
That's all for today, friend.
I'm glad you're here.
Love you mean it!!!
